Dave Chappelle Covers GQ, Full Interview
Really great stuff.
Why'd you quit?
It just wasn't good. None of 'em were really good. And it took that experience, those experiences, to learn how to do television. I'm a slow learner. Early in my career, I was along for a ride. And then, later in my career, I was like, "You know, I should really drive. 'Cause nobody has ever taken me to a place I actually want to go."

A.P.C.'s Jean Touitou Talks To GQ
This guy talks about the things he's passionate about and it's fucking gold.
I don't want to know how other people are trying to knock me off. That's a bit disturbing. But I don't give a fuck. I don't care. There's nothing that could make me jealous. Sometimes if there are good jeans I see, the price is not correct. I believe you not only need a good cut and good fabric, but the price has to be human. Otherwise, I could do tons of incredible things. But if the price is not human, the mission is not accomplished. The same thing goes for bags for women. Anybody with a regular amount of talent can do a beautiful dress. Okay, maybe not anybody, let's say 100 people on the planet. But if these dresses are three or four thousand dollars, it's only going to be possible to buy for a very small elite of the world. Frankly, even if I have the means to buy a pair of jeans for $1000 dollars, I wouldn't do so, because nothing about that is appealing to me.

Jony Ive Speaks At Vanity Fair Summit (Interview)
So on the money.
Lessons working with Steve Jobs?
Focus. Steve was the most focused person I've met in my life. It's terrifying that when you really truly focus, it seems a bit illegal. You can achieve so much. Steve would say "How many things have you said no to?" And I would have these sacrificial things...and he knew that I wasn't interested in doing those things anyway. What focus means is saying no with every bone in your body to something you know is a good idea but you say no because you're focused on something else.
I remember talking to Steve Jobs and asked why he was perceived as harsh. And I said couldn't we be more moderate? And he said why? And I said because I care about the team. And he said: "No Jony, you're just really vain. You just want people to like you. I'm surprised at you, because I thought you really held the work up as the most important and not how you are perceived by people."
People misunderstood Steve because he was so focused.

Obama Pens Letter Through Medium To America's Young People
Say what you want but I'm into this.
Let’s talk for a second about this new American economy — one marked by new industry and commerce, humming with new energy and new technology, and being driven forward by highly skilled, higher-wage workers. Our medical professionals are part of a workforce that also includes folks who are developing cutting-edge software to help us diagnose diseases. We’re not just punching in and pounding rivets — we’re coding computers and guiding robots. In this new economy, an entrepreneur can start a new business and succeed, an older worker who sees opportunity in a new field has resources available to retool for that new job, and a student can graduate from college with the chance to advance through a vibrant job market.
I saw this new economy at Pittsburgh’s TechShop, one in a chain of community centers where members get access to professional tools, equipment, and software, as well as the space they need to make or design or prototype almost anything — for the same price you’d pay for a gym membership.

GQ Talks To Riccardo Tisci
On new Nike collab, Kanye & Kim etc.
When they started dating Kanye came up to me and said we should all get dinner, so they came to Paris to visit me. I like the girl. She's cool, she's also different from what people think. She's very special. Very beautiful. Then I found out from fashion people that people didn't like her, people didn't want anything to do with her. I'm a Leo and Italian and very proud, so I didn't change my way about them. I invited them to the show, started doing special projects with them, dressing them and I got killed so much. But that's what you do to be a friend, to be real - you don't care about what people are saying.

Two @ShirtNYC Interviews w/ AllPureMusic & WorkingEstate
Four questions via WorkingEstate.
What is your creative process from idea to finished product?
Ahh that depends. Ideas are all around. Sometimes they don’t come for days, and I live and wait for them. Sometimes they attack me and I rush to write it all down, and I can’t write it fast enough. The oven is set to this very loud timer, and when it goes off I just walk over and bring them out.

Ron Finley For Becks 2014 (Artist Labels)
If you can believe it, I caught this before watching a Youtube video. It was a 3 minute ad I watched till the end then googled about. How crazy is that?
PaperMag Presents "Meet The Original Gangsters"
Squeezing all 37 of these artists, visionaries, icons and iconoclasts into our September 30th anniversary issue was about the best birthday present we can imagine. (Shooting everywhere from Wyoming to Tokyo was a sweet party favor.) But as Patti Smith suggests in this feature, this is no exhaustive list. OGs are everywhere: some have already changed the world, some are building toward their moment and some are reading this magazine right now. So to the OGs featured here, and to all fierce, fabulous trailblazers out there, this one's for you.

New Apple "Perspective" Commercial
My bad, I think Jobs would've liked this.
Including the copy because I like it so much:
Here's to those who have always seen things differently. The ones who follow a vision, not a path. Where others perceive first as valuable, you value the first thing that actually matters. While others are distracted by the new, you focus on the significance of a whole new take. Even before you could see how to change things, you never doubted we would. And we did. Together. Again and again. Relentless optimism is what moves the world forward. So keep seeing things differently. Keep trusting there's always another way. A better way. A bigger way. One that lifts up humanity. Breaks down our barriers. And heals the landscape. You are the difference between the world as it was and the better place it will become. And different is the one thing about us that will always be the same.
GQ's Inside Story Of Bad Boy Records

Jadakiss (rapper, the Lox): Getting on Bad Boy was like being the top pick in the draft, going to play with the Bulls when Mike was there. It put the battery in our back.

Andre 3000 Interview w/ NY Times
Something like 2 weeks old at this point but great.
What’s your creative life been like since that era? It’s mostly been out of view.
I write ideas, I write thoughts. Melodies come more for me than raps. I sit in my house and just play. I’ve been drawing and painting a lot more. I’ve always drawn costumes, things I was going to wear onstage. Seven and I hate folding clothes, so we’d always take all of our clean clothes and just put ’em on the table. One day, I was like, “Man, we living like college students.” I got so fed up with [the mess]. I drew it. [He pulls out iPhone and flips through some sketches.] I see me moving into a visual space.

Ralph Lauren Interview w/ Style
Jewel or two from the god himself.
RL: I’ve always done the style that I loved, so I didn’t mind sending an old pair of jeans down the runway. It’s about that style. It’s not Hedi Slimane. You know, I’m not all that familiar with his thing—I really don’t look. I certainly know who he is. But it’s funny how people will recognize what I do, and when I’m doing it they don’t get it, and then after, all of a sudden when other people start doing it, they get it. So I’m designing what I want. If it’s a man’s coat with a pair of skinny-leg jeans, I’ll do that. It’s whatever my mood is. But it’s about style, and it’s about an understated taste that’s cool.

New Shirt Verse On Lauryn Hill's "Black Rage" Sketch
I'm sick
Down goes another innocent kid
I'm tired of this shit
Now I heard some people say ahhh he was big
Fuck that he was a kid
18 years old, when I was 18 lit
It could've been me, another brown boy hit
I was walking in the middle of the street the other day with my brother
Thank God we ain't have to take cover
In a world filled with such violence
How sad that we fear when cop cars behind us
And we try and play it off but this fear live inside us
And then it divide us
Some people hands up don't shoot
Some people like them pigs got guns we got guns too
Some wanna pray, some people like fuck all that praying do?
Up against more animals than a zoo
Mike Brown I ain't know you but I feel like I did
Especially cause you rapped
And I swear my nigga if I live then you live
Though I can't bring you back, damn
We gon push this thing forward
We getting stronger they don't even know it
But I know we gon show it
With the whole world watching
This is my doctrine
Put dirty cops under the jail but this ain't about them
I ain't got beef with no watchmen
This for my people
The hate's all see through
What's it gonna lead to?

Virgil Abloh Speaks To Fader
I like a lot of what he's saying. You believe him.
What’s next for Off-White?
Right now, I’m designing my first flagship retail store in Hong Kong, which will open in the fall. I can use my architecture dreams to build out the space how I see it. I’m also working on furniture. I’d do anything at the right time and I would also do things at the wrong time, if they felt right. I just don’t want people to get it twisted about what really goes on in my head. You can look at it like, “Oh, he’s this black hip-hop kid that looks like he should be playing basketball.” I just love breaking down barriers and hitting people with the alley-oop when they think we're a stereotype.

Beloved Legendary Actor Robin Williams Kills Himself At 63
So sad. To me it isn't so much about how important it can be to reach out and ask someone how they're doing. It's about constantly reaching out and actually caring. A lot of people ask how you are everyday and aren't really listening when you tell them. I don't think it's even necessarily selfish. Everyone has issues. Motherfuckers are just trying to get by themselves.
